Breastfeeding Resources and Support

Breastfeeding Resources and Support

Breastfeeding is the best source of nutrition for most infants. Human breast milk is packed with antibodies from the mother and nutrients, adapting to meet the baby’s ever-changing needs. In fact, the American Association of Pediatrics recommends breastfeeding as the sole source of nutrition until your baby is at least 6 months old. But breastfeeding isn’t always easy. According to the CDC, sixty percent of mothers do not breastfeed due to lack of family support or parental leave from work, issues with lactation or latching, concerns about nutrition and weight, and other circumstances beyond their control. To help bridge this gap, Woman’s offers a wide range of lactation resources and support to breastfeeding mothers.

BreastTime

BreastTime is private, virtual breastfeeding support with a lactation nurse in the comfort of your own home, or wherever is most convenient for you. You can access these consultations via computer or laptop with a camera, iPhone™, iPad™ or Android phone.

If you or your baby are experiencing one or more of the following, a breastfeeding telehealth consult is not recommended. You should contact your physician immediately.

  • Jaundice
  • Metabolic Disorders
  • Fever
  • Head trauma
  • Headaches/seizures/convulsions
  • Rashes
  • Umbilical Cord problems/concerns
  • Circumcision problems/concerns
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Newborn Weight Concerns
