Nutrition Numbers: Get in the Know!

Nutrition Numbers: Get in the Know!

Everyone wants to be healthy. In fact, a recent study shows that 96% of Americans say they want to “be healthy.” But interestingly enough, the same study revealed that people can’t seem to agree on what being “healthy” really means. And that’s just the beginning of the confusion and contradiction on how people feel about their overall health and what they put into their bodies.

When it comes to nutrition and weight loss, there is no shortage of advice. Magazines, books and websites are filled with promises of new methods that guarantee you’ll lose the weight and keep it off. And it’s that overwhelming contradiction that has many people doubting their food choices overall, leading them to fall back into their previous bad habits.

The majority of the confusion comes from the many numbers associated with a meal plan. It’s a challenge to remember how many grams of this, how many servings of that, drink this many ounces of water, but don’t eat more than that many calories… Who can keep track of it all?! We understand that when it comes to proper nutrition it can be extremely confusing, but don’t let that keep you from reaching your health and fitness goals.

Know Your Numbers is a free seminar designed to help you understand what numbers really matter when it comes to your health. One of our dietitians will discuss important numbers like weight, body composition, labs, sleep, exercise, and nutrition. She will outline what experts recommend as goals specific to female health. Participants who attend the seminar will receive a discount for a body composition analysis on our state-of-the-art Fit3D Body Scanner, which provides full body scans that determine body fat, girth measurements, balance and posture. These measurements can provide vital information about your health. The three dimensional images will give you a baseline and allows our team of professionals to help formulate an individual goal plan.

Please note that the video has been sped up for posting. A complete scan takes about one minute.

Still not convinced? Let us explain how our departments at Woman’s Center for Wellness will use your scan results to help you succeed:

  • Nutrition: For those of you looking to improve your health through diet, our nutrition team members use the Fit3D body composition analysis to develop a nutrition plan specifically for you. You can re-measure as often as you would like to see how your scans continue to improve as you continue to make those positive changes! One option is our Balance® Program. If you determine this program is right for you, we will incorporate scans at the beginning and end of the 12-week program to show overall improvements to your weight, body composition and measurements. The scanner allows each Balance client to see results beyond the number on the scale.
  • Fitness: Our fitness trainers will utilize 3D scan results to help you transform your body by decreasing fat mass and increasing lean mass through the use of adequate exercise. The precision of the scan allows our team of trainers to develop an exercise program that targets those trouble spots and helps you get to looking your very best faster.
