Geaux Teal Ovarian Cancer Walk is April 1

Each year, approximately 21,000 women in the United States get ovarian cancer. Among women in the United States, ovarian cancer is the eighth most common cancer and the fifth leading cause of cancer death.

Woman’s is a proud sponsor of the Geaux Teal Ovarian Cancer Walk, which will be held April 1, 2017 at Tiger Park. Geaux Teal provides grant funding for Woman’s to continue providing low-cost services to ovarian cancer survivors once they are discharged from therapy. Services offered include:

  • Medical exercise to help patients transition from therapy to fitness. For many patients, insurance benefits run out before they are ready to exercise independently, so this service is vital to their physical health.
  • Fitness memberships
  • Nutrition counseling
