Autonomy-“I can do it”

Autonomy refers to a mindset of independence or rather, interdependence.  The person feels empowered and in control of their weight loss although they may be getting assistance through the use of our Registered Dieticians with their weight loss journey or our Health Coaches with their life coaching/behavior change.

In order to successfully lose weight and keep weight off or conquer goals and not return back to old habits, clients need to believe and have confidence that they can do it.  This is necessary for prolonged and continual success.

When you find yourself in a difficult situation tell yourself “you can do it!” to emphasize autonomy.
